Welcome to the Profile Bar, located on the top right of any contact's profile! It remains on the page no matter which panel you're using and it freezes near the main menu if you scroll down so you can always have quick access to the tools in the profile bar.

PROFILE IMAGE

Contacts in Stellar can only have one profile image at a time. To change a contact's profile image or set one from the generic contact icon, click on the profile image. Stellar will bring up a full screen modal where you can update the profile image using the upload box.


You can also remove an existing profile image by clicking the red REMOVE PROFILE IMAGE button.



ENGAGEMENTS

An Engagement is how Stellar tracks interactions with contacts.  You should use these when tracking a phone call, meeting or email from a contact that ought to be recorded in the system.  You can also send emails and text messages to a contact from this tool.  Stellar will automatically record outbound communications to a contact as an engagement so you don't have to handle these manually. 


Clicking the engagements icon in the profile bar brings up side screen content so you can record a new engagements, view existing engagements and of course, send a new message to a contact via email or text.

Similar to text conversations on your phone, outbound engagements will float on the right with a blue background while inbound engagements are on the left with a grey background.


Each engagement has an icon attached to show what type of engagement it is. Email, SMS, In Person, Phone and Web Messages are a few of the options you might see here.



TASKS


Use this to create a to-do task for this contact.  These are private tasks and will only show up on your Stellar Dashboard.





TRANSACTIONS

Click on the $ sign to add either a new Donation or Fee transaction. Donations must be linked to a FUND but can also be linked to an APPEAL. Fees can be linked to event registration or orders.





LOGIN CONTROLS


By clicking this key icon, you can view the email address login associated with the account and either change the password or generate a password to be emailed to the contact's login email address. 


From here you can also disable a contact. This will prevent this user from being able to login.  


MERGE CONTACTS

Merging a contact is a way of getting rid of duplicate contacts in Stellar by linking to another contact. The old contact is no longer directly accessible and Stellar will forward you to the MASTER CONTACT instead. Stellar moves things like:

  • Engagements
  • Notes
  • Registrations
  • Associations
  • Group Membership
  • Soft Credits
  • Tags
  • Other Known Aliases

... from the old contact over to the MASTER CONTACT.



UNIFIED TIMELINE

The Unified Timeline shows all activity and communications of the specific contact. If you select to view by family, then you would see all timeline events for any linked spouses and children. You can show all categories or filter by transactions, internal notes, engagements, registrations or contact log.











SEND CONTACT INFO TO ME

This sends a VCF (Virtual Contact File) to your email which has all primary contact information including any email addresses, phone numbers, birthday or mailing addresses. 


If you have a cell phone number in the system and Stellar’s text messaging capabilities are activated, you can also receive the VCF file directly to your cell phone.
